- At Blitz we’ve experimented with a lot of cakes over the years. If you’re planning your own cake smash here’s a simple tip for you.
- Our current cake of choice is the ASDA Rainbow Jazzie Cake. Its colourful on the inside as well as the outside. Under the sprinkles is a soft wet white icing which is ideal for encouraging children to poke their fingers into the cake. Once they break into it there are layers of coloured sponge on the inside which look great in the photographs.
- The icing is messy but will not stain your floor ground but will make it incredibly sticky. Make sure you have wipes and other cleaning products ready to tidy up! We give the children a bath after so the floor gets very wet and helps the cleaning process.
- Another advantage of this cake is there are no shapes of sweets to pick off it. The ASDA unicorn cake is very nice also but sometimes children will just grab the treats without doing any real damage to the cake itself.
- If you need a vegan cake you may have to look elsewhere. I believe there are 6 ingredients include which are not vegan. Always check if the child you are photographing has any allergies.
- As of writing this cake costs £14 and is available at all ASADA stores. They are popular so check they are in stock and purchase one well ahead of the time of the photoshoot.
- We hope this is helpful
