When Should Newborn Photos be taken?
In our experience, we find that photographing your teeny tiny baby when they are 7-21 days new is best. They are still very sleepy and curly. If your hospital stay is a little longer, we can still take newborn photographs – it’s just your baby maybe more awake. We allow 3-4 hours for the session. This allows for feeding, changing, and settling. We’ll have plenty of tea and coffee to keep you going. Some parents have even been known to catch forty winks.
When Should I book?
We recommend you book your photoshoot after your 20 week scan to guarantee your newborn photography experience. If you are waiting until nearer your due date or baby is here give us a call or check our diary and we’ll do our best to book you in.
What if?
Newborns can be unpredictable so ‘what if’ is a question we hear a lot!
What if my baby wants a feed?
Your little one will need a feed at some point during the session so we give you the time and space to do this in peace.
What if my baby is a bit jaundiced, or has flaky skin?
No problem…we will be able to enhance any images to make them perfect (including skin colouring, baby milk spots, dry skin, etc)
What if my baby will not sleep?
Don’t worry – All babies when they are comfy and content will sleep and we have lots of patience, experience and that with a lovely relaxing environment for your baby and you.
Can we Have Family Photographs?
As a new family, this is the very first time you will have the opportunity to have a family portrait taken. We encourage you, as parents, to come prepared to have your photograph taken, but it’s not compulsory.
If you already have little ones, or big ones then we will arrange a mini-family photoshoot. When you visit for your newborn photographs we’ll book a date that works for the whole family.
